One of London’s top independent mid-tier law firms Mackrell Turner Garrett is taking part in a series of fundraising events for a children’s charity in Tanzania as part of its work with its international network of solicitors, Mackrell International.

Larchfield Children’s Home is to benefit from thousands of pounds of donations from Mackrell International – a network of more than 5,000 lawyers from 93 member firms in 60 countries – of which Mackrell Turner Garrett is a founding firm.

Starting with a two-day charity bike ride from London2Paris which took place on 22 September this year, the organisation of international law firms is planning to hold a number of events to raise money for the children’s home.

Larchfield was created as a response to the desperate plight of Tanzanian children who have been abandoned by parents – by reason of disease and death or incapacity.

Nigel Rowley, Managing Partner at Mackrell Turner Garrett and Deputy Chairman of Mackrell International, said: “Larchfield Children’s Home will serve as a happy, safe and secure environment for 300 Tanzanian children, so we could think of no better cause to support this year.

“We as a firm, through our membership of Mackrell International, are raising thousands of pounds for this fantastic organisation, which will go towards improving the lives of these young people in Africa.”
