Leading London law firm Mackrell Turner Garrett has recruited a talented solicitor to head up its Crime and Regulatory Department.

Robert Jappie joins the firm having already worked on a number of high profile criminal cases.

His appointment to the firm’s criminal law team marks a redirection of focus for the department and will bolster the firm’s existing pool of specialist solicitors.

With more than eight years’ experience in the fields of serious crime, business crime and fraud, regulatory matters and commercial litigation, Robert has in-depth expertise to assist a wide range of clients.

He also has developed a particular knowledge of organised crime, drug trafficking and money laundering offences and has represented clients in relation to civil fraud claims in the High Court Chancery Division.

Speaking about his appointment at Mackrell Turner Garrett, Robert said: “I am delighted to be joining Mackrell Turner Garrett’s Crime and Regulatory Department.

“Facing a conviction can be one of the most difficult times in a person’s life and so I hope the services and advice I can offer will help the firm’s clients achieve the best possible outcomes.”

Robert’s experience also extends to complex fraud and tax cases and he has extensive experience in advising and representing clients involved in complex POCA proceedings.

Nigel Rowley, Mackrell Turner Garrett’s Managing Partner, said: “Robert is an experienced solicitor who has expertise in a wide range of criminal and regulatory matters. I am certain that his knowledge and experience will prove extremely useful to our expanding Crime and Regulatory Department.”
