Leading solicitor Nigel Rowley has been invited to take up the position of Chairman of one of the world’s top legal networks, Mackrell International.

Nigel is Managing Partner of Mackrell International’s founding member firm Mackrell Turner Garrett, where he has spent more than 30 years building the London firm into the well-recognised mid-tier practice it is today.

He will take up the new position as Chairman on 1 May 2017, taking over from the current Chair Michael Connolly, from New York member firm Morrison Cohen, who has played an instrumental role in the network’s success over the last couple of years.

As Chairman, Nigel will be responsible for helping to guide Mackrell International’s members with the help of the network’s International Committee, starting with the group’s upcoming AGM in Chile in May.

“I am really honoured to be taking up my position as Chairman of Mackrell International, it feels like the realisation of a lifelong aspiration of mine,” said Nigel.

“The network is now in its 30th year and it feels almost fated that I, as the Managing Partner of the founding firm, should be taking up this position.”

He will now take up the position as head of the prestigious international network – consisting of more than 4,500 lawyers in 60 countries – for three years, during which he hopes to make a lasting impression, he added.
