Chris began his legal career in 1961, when he joined Mackrell & Co, a predecessor firm of Mackrell Turner Garrett, as an articled clerk. He qualified as a solicitor in 1966 and became a partner at Mackrell & Co in 1972 and at Mackrell Turner Garrett in 1987.
Chris’s specialisms include employment law and he has extensive experience in high value claims for breach of contract, unfair dismissal and discrimination, acting at employment tribunals and the High Court of Justice in London.
Chris advises on restrictive covenants and their enforcement and acts for employers and employees in all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law.
He regularly advises on business transfers and their consequences, acting for major multinational and international corporations on employee issues, including restructuring and providing general legislation advice.
Chris also specialises in all aspects of dispute resolution, particularly high value commercial and construction claims, involving arbitration, adjudication, mediation and High Court litigation.
He is a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association and the Law Society.
