The Family and Relationship Team at London law firm, Mackrell.Solicitors, has teamed up with a top barrister to offer support via a webinar to families struggling with financial orders and arrangements in the COVID-19 world.
The firm, that supports clients around the world, was joined by Maria Scotland, a barrister and Joint Head of the Family Team at 5 St Andrew’s Hill to look at how the current crisis has affected families and their finances.
The webinar included insights from Mackrell.Solicitors’ Family and Relationship Team, including Alison Green its Head and Senior Associate Jim Richards and Associate Manisha Hurchurn.
Financial orders are just one area that the team at Mackrell.Solicitors believe may be relevant during the current pandemic, and one that is particularly worrying for people considering the current impact of the situation on individual’s incomes.
Alison said: “With many people facing the prospect of redundancy and others on a reduced income due to furlough, there are clearly concerns about meeting the obligations of existing financial orders, such as spousal maintenance arrangements.
“We wanted to host an event and produce a video that would help to guide families through this challenging period. We were really thankful that Maria was able to join us and share her expertise and experience with our audience in this complex area.”
Mackrell.Solicitors has been recording a number of insightful webinars during lockdown to help its clients and others access the advice they need whilst subject to the pandemic restrictions.
