Judges at this year’s Legal Week Legal Innovation Awards have shortlisted London full-service law firm, Mackrell Turner Garrett, in the Business Development Innovation category.
The Legal Week awards recognise the very best in forward-thinking legal practices and try to highlight those firms that are seeking new solutions or offering new services to clients to meet their needs.
In its submission, Mackrell Turner Garrett sought to highlight the arrival of its new cannabis law department in London. The submission detailed the steps the firm had taken to capitalise on its strong commercial relationship with the established US Cannabis industry through partner firms within the Mackrell International network. The Business Development activity has contributed to us becoming one of the leading practices advising the UK’s fast-growing cannabis industry.
This includes its recent instructions by the Cannabis Trades Association and its members, as well as the firm’s national press coverage in publications, such as The Times.
Chris Lane, Head of Business Development and Marketing, said: “We are delighted that the judges at this year’s awards have recognised the significant leap in innovation that the firm has enjoyed in the past year.
“Alongside the development of our cannabis law services, we have also expanded our expertise in sports law and blockchain and crypto-asset matters, which is helping us stand out as an innovative firm that is not afraid to deal with areas of the law that others shy away from.
“Our approach to marketing and further expanding upon these services is really paying off and to gain this recognition is a real honour.”
Nigel Rowley, Managing Partner at Mackrell Turner Garrett, added: “The last 12 months have been very exciting for us as a firm and has seen us take a number of key steps that have placed us well ahead of the curve in key areas.
“I am glad that the hard work of our team and their dedication to innovation has been picked up by the Legal innovation Awards team.”
Mackrell Turner Garrett will now have to wait until 24 May 2019 to find out if it has won at an awards ceremony due to be held at The Landmark London.
