Robert Watson

Rob is an associate within the Corporate and Commercial Department and advises clients on a wide range of matters relating to day-to-day business activities and company sales.

His clients include the owners, managers and often founders of SMEs across a diverse range of sectors from technology to medical supplies.

Rob has significant experience in company sales and has assisted with a number of successful transactions in recent years. In particular, his effective management of large scale due diligence exercises, for both buyers and sellers, has been praised by clients who have faced demands on their time from the sale and running of their businesses.

His recent transactions include:

  • acting in the management buyout of a market-leading provider of tailored loan and savings management systems backed;
  • acted for the shareholders of one of the UK’s leading vehicle and rail wash systems providers in the sale of a majority shareholding to an award-winning private equity house;
  • acted for the shareholders of a successful data infrastructure business to a global data network solutions company; and
  • acted for the shareholder of a medical supplies business on its sale to an Anglo Irish company, creating a combined business with a turnover in excess of £135 million.

Rob studied law at the University of Kent in Canterbury and completed his LLM/LPC at the University of Law, Bloomsbury.
