Mackrell LLP is bolstering its corporate and commercial team with the appointment of award-winning solicitor Neil Pfister, who joins as the firm’s newest Partner.
Neil brings a rare combination of legal expertise and hands-on industry experience. Before qualifying as a solicitor, he founded and ran his own software company, gaining first-hand insight into the challenges faced by technology-driven businesses.
His unique perspective has shaped his practical, client-focused approach to law. In recognition of his work, Neil was named UK Technology Lawyer of the Year in 2024.
With more than a decade of experience, Neil has advised clients ranging from innovative start-ups and ambitious SMEs to large-scale international operations, including several listed companies.
Neil’s expertise includes commercial contracts, joint venture agreements, licensing and distribution agreements and advice on regulatory matters.
While technology is at the heart of much of his work, Neil also advises clients in other sectors, reflecting his adaptable and pragmatic style.

Much of Neil’s work has an international dimension, with him recently having supported clients with operations in the USA, UAE and Singapore.
