About

Alex has extensive experience advising businesses, directors, shareholders and individuals on a wide range of contentious matters. He now provides tailored advice to clients on commercial disputes and contentious employment matters.

His commercial litigation practice includes:

  • Contractual disputes
  • Shareholder and director disputes
  • Unfair prejudice petitions
  • Unfair and wrongful dismissal claims
  • Restrictive covenant disputes
  • Discrimination claims and negotiated exits

This has led to litigation experience in the High Court, including the Business and Property Courts, as well as proceedings in the Employment Tribunal.

As a solicitor advocate with Higher Rights of Audience, Alex enjoys the advocacy and strategic aspects of contentious work. He takes pride in working out a strategy that best serves the client rather than viewing litigation as the end goal.

By understanding what the client is trying to achieve, Alex’s work is strategic and practical from the outset. He adopts a transparent approach with clients, ensuring the rationale behind his advice is clearly communicated, alongside a realistic view of their outcomes.

Alex builds long-term relationships with clients. He encourages clients to lean on his expertise not just when a dispute has arisen, but also when proactive legal advice is needed to avoid one altogether.

Outside of work, Alex is interested in film, comedy and writing, recently co-authoring and co-directing an independent comedy feature which has screened at film festivals in the UK and internationally.
