LLB (Hons) Law with Business, University of Essex, 2026 (Upper Second-Class Honours, 2:1).

Previous experience (including any relevant work or volunteering outside of practice):

Most recently, I undertook a two-week placement with Mackrell’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team, working alongside the team on a major commercial dispute. I observed proceedings at the Royal Courts of Justice, attended client meetings, and gained direct insight into case preparation and litigation strategy. I previously completed solicitor shadowing at Allsop Durn LLP, where I was introduced to wills and probate work. Alongside my studies, I worked as a Leisure Assistant and lifeguard at Bushey Grove Leisure Centre since 2022. This developed my client service, teamwork and ability to remain calm when dealing with responsibility.

Describe what you do in your role (i.e. expertise, specialisms etc):

As a paralegal, I will provide legal research and practical case support to the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team. The role includes reviewing documents, assisting with case preparation and supporting solicitors with the day-to-day progression of matters. I am looking forward to developing experience across a varied caseload and supporting the team in delivering a quality and responsive service to clients.

Outline your ambitions in your new role:

My ambition is to establish a strong foundation for a long-term career in law and to become a dependable member of Mackrell’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team. This position presents an exciting opportunity to learn from experienced practitioners, assume increasing responsibility over time, and contribute effectively to the firm and its clients. Once I have become established in the role, I intend to pursue further legal qualifications.

What do you like about your role?

I am drawn to the variety and intellectual challenge of litigation, and to the opportunity to work closely with a range of clients and colleagues. My placement gave me a clear sense of how legal research, careful preparation and teamwork can combine to move a live commercial dispute forward

What skills or behaviours make you good at your role?

I take an analytical approach, work well as part of a team and remain calm when work is busy or demanding. I am comfortable asking questions where this will improve my understanding or the quality of my work. I am keen to learn, receptive to feedback and reliable in supporting colleagues.

How do you approach work?

I approach work in a structured and thorough way. I take time to understand the task, its purpose and the relevant deadline, and I pay close attention to detail. I communicate openly with colleagues, ask questions when clarification is needed and take responsibility for completing work to a high standard.

Outside of work, what do you like doing/are you interested in?

Outside work, I am a keen football fan and Arsenal supporter. I played competitive futsal at university and continue to keep active at the gym. I also enjoy travelling, music, and spending time with friends and family.
