We are currently looking for a Part-Time HR Adviser to join our team two to three days a week. This role will support the firm’s day-to-day HR and recruitment activities.

The successful candidate will work closely with partners and staff across all departments.

The role requires a highly organised individual who is able to manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.

Key responsibilities will include assisting with:

  • Working closely with recruitment agencies to coordinate candidate interviews.
  • Supporting the recruitment process by collating interview feedback and preparing approval to offer documentation.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with partners, associates, trainees and paralegals, providing HR support and escalating any issues where appropriate.
  • Managing offboarding processes for departing employees, ensuring documentation is completed and procedures are followed.
  • Tracking probation periods across the firm and preparing end-of-probation documentation for review by relevant partners.
  • Responding to day-to-day HR queries from staff.
  • Updating and monitoring training trackers to ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Coordinating appraisal processes in conjunction with relevant partners and assisting with the administration of performance review documentation.
  • Monitoring and tracking annual leave and absences.
  • Providing general administrative support on HR projects and initiatives as required.

Skills and experience

  • Previous administrative or HR experience within a law firm is preferable.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple tasks within deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong sense of discretion and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Proactive, dependable and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across the firm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
